March Madness 2024: Your Ultimate Guide to Enjoying College Basketball's Biggest Event

 

As March rolls around, basketball enthusiasts gear up for one of the most exhilarating sporting events of the year: March Madness. This annual NCAA Division I Men's & Women’s Basketball Tournaments captivate millions of fans with its unpredictable outcomes, buzzer-beaters, and Cinderella stories. Whether you're a die-hard fan or a casual viewer, maximizing your March Madness experience involves knowing key dates, locations, and broadcast channels.

 

Key Dates and Locations:


Selection Sunday: March Madness kicks off with Selection Sunday for the Men’s division on March 17, 2024 at 6 PM ET on CBS and the Women’s division at 8 PM ET on ESPN, when the tournament brackets are revealed, and teams learn their fate.


First Four: The Men’s & Women’s tournament officially begin with the First Four games on March 19 and 20 & March 20 and 21 respectively where eight teams compete for a spot in the first round.
 

First and Second Rounds: From March 21 to 25, games will be held across various locations nationwide, for both Men’s & Women’s divisions, featuring thrilling matchups as teams battle to advance to the Sweet 16.


Sweet 16 and Elite Eight: The action intensifies from March 28 to 31 for Men and March 29 to April 1 for Women, with games held in four different cities as teams vie for a coveted spot in the Final Four.
 

Final Four and Championship: The journey culminates in Glendale, Arizona, for Men, with the Final Four games taking place on April 6 and the national championship game tipping off on April 8 at State Farm Stadium. The Women’s Final Four begins on April 5 and the national championship game tipping off on April 7 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.


Broadcast Channels:

CBS and Turner Sports' family of networks (TBS, TNT, and truTV) will once again provide comprehensive coverage of the Men's March Madness, ensuring fans don't miss a moment of the excitement. Women's March Madness games are broadcast on the ESPN family of networks, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN News, and ABC.

 

Whether you're hosting watch parties, filling out brackets, or simply tuning in for the thrill of the game, March Madness offers something for everyone. With its blend of fierce competition, emotional highs and lows, and the promise of upsets, it's no wonder this tournament captivates audiences year after year.
