Wegmans Ice Arena
The SUNY Brockport’s ice hockey team calls the Wegmans Ice Arena home. Built in the early 1970s, Wegmans Ice Arena seats 2,000 for the Green and Gold’s home hockey games. With great seats putting fans close to the action, the arena is known for its electric atmosphere. Brockport has twice hosted State University of New York Athletic Conference postseason games at Tuttle North Ice Arena, in 2008 and 2009, and with a hand from the supportive Brockport faithful, the Golden Eagles won both those playoff contests.
Besides Brockport collegiate hockey, Wegmans Ice Arena is in use practically 18 hours a day during hockey season, from September through March. The Tri-County Youth Hockey league calls the arena home, as do local high schools and a myriad of campus recreation activities, including open skates and skate-and-shoot sessions.
