Being one of the three schools in the MIAC that own their arena, the Cardinals are blessed with a tremendous facility in which to practice and play games.

The Saint Mary's University Ice Arena seats approximately 850 people. It is open every day to students and staff. Players can skate before or after classes, as well as dedicated practice times.

The ice surface itself is just short of being an Olympic-size rink. The larger surface serves the Cardinals fast-paced style of play very well. Cardinal players have the luxury of having the ice rink, a four-court field house, and weight room all in the same building in the middle of campus.

The ice arena has a great history. Until 1982, the ice surface was an outdoor artificial surface. In January of 1983, Saint Mary's invested in an air inflated bubble to cover the ice sheet. For four years, the "Bubble" was the home of the Cardinals. In 1987, permanent walls were installed, but the interior remained gravel floors with wood runners. The arena was completed in 1994. The Regan lobby added in 2001.
