Home of Mercyhurst Men's and Women's Division 1 hockey teams as well as 3 club hockey programs and a club figure skating program.

The $1.4 million Mercyhurst Ice Center (MIC), built in 1991 is the only Division I ice hockey facility in Northwest Pennsylvania. It was the first privately owned professional-size hockey rink in Erie. In 1999, it became the home of the Mercyhurst women's hockey program in addition to the men's program.  In addition to men's and women's varsity hockey, the Mercyhurst Ice Center is also used by the college's club hockey team (ACHA), the Erie Youth Hockey Association, local high school teams, local figure skating clubs, the Gliding Stars of Erie and for enrolled student recreation use.  The Ice Center was the site of the 1995 ECAC West Playoffs, the 1995 NCAA Division II Men's Ice Hockey Championship between Mercyhurst and Bemidji State, the 2005 and 2009 Women's College Hockey America (CHA) Playoffs and two NCAA Women's Quarterfinal games.

In the summer of 2019, the Ice Center underwent significant aesthetic and physical improvements to enhance the student athlete and fan experiences. A new chiller system and ice surface, both of which were vastly needed for sustainability purposes, were installed. New boards and glass were also part of the project, which features 64 business partners on the boards that is visible to any player and spectator throughout the year. Fans and spectators alike will notice the new visual look to the ice center, featuring a blue and green look that represents the University's brand.

In addition to being home of Laker hockey, the Ice Center is a staple in the Erie Community, where local hockey and figure skating groups rent the ice. The Ice Center is also a perfect way to host family and corporate outings during games, as well as non-game days for ice rentals.
