HISTORY
Located on Lehigh's Goodman Campus, Frank Banko Field at the Ulrich Sports Complex is home to Lehigh's men's and women's lacrosse programs. Offering spectacular views of South Mountain and the surrounding scenic landscape, the field features stadium lights, an electronic scoreboard, restrooms, a concessions stand and permanent bleachers on both sides of the field. The stands on the west sideline are double-sided and feature a common press box, meant to accommodate action on both Banko Field and the adjacent soccer field on the other side.

The complex was designed in the late 1990s by a team of students from the university's distinctive ILE (Integrated Learning Experience) program. The team combined its knowledge of engineering, architecture, marketing, and budgeting to design a complex that would serve the needs of the sports programs who use the complex. The first phase of the complex was completed in November of 1998 with the installation of a turf field (now known as Frank Banko Field). The Lehigh lacrosse programs began playing at the complex in 2001 following the completion of the grandstand seating, press box and entrance plaza.

In 2009, the original Astroturf playing surface was replaced with FieldTurf and received additional upgrades in the form of new signage and imaging. The field was also dedicated and renamed in honor of Frank Banko '41 for his generous support.

Lehigh's field hockey program, which had called the field home since its opening, moved to the new Ulrich Field prior to the fall 2009 season.

In the summer of 2015, a new halftime building, named the Gould-Shenfeld Center was constructed at the complex. Located opposite the main entrance at the north end of the of the complex, the building is situated between the lacrosse and the neighboring soccer field and is used by both venues.

In spring 2017, new permanent bleacher seating for 250 spectators and a second press box were constructed on the east sideline, expanding the seating capacity and serving as a space for Lehigh's live video streams.

EVENTS
Frank Banko Field and the Ulrich Sports Complex host numerous external events throughout the year including camps and clinics, high school and amateur tournaments, and various all-star events.
